Former Secretary of the Ministry of Social Welfare, Ismail Hossain, has been placed on a 2-day remand by the court. On Saturday, December 21, the police presented him before the CMM Court, seeking a 7-day remand under Section 54 of the Criminal Procedure Code. Following hearings from both sides, where the defense requested bail and opposed the remand, the judge approved a 2-day remand for interrogation.

Ismail Hossain was arrested on Friday night, December 20, at Dhaka’s Shahjalal International Airport while attempting to travel to the United States.
