Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman is currently in stable condition and receiving medical care at a hospital in the capital after falling ill during a public rally at Suhrawardy Udyan on Saturday (July 19).
Speaking to Somoy Sangbad in the evening, Jamaat’s Assistant Secretary General Advocate Ehsanul Mahbub Zubair confirmed the update.
“The Ameer is now stable. He’s undergoing routine medical checkups at a hospital. His blood pressure and sugar levels are normal,” Zubair stated.
A formal statement regarding his health is expected later tonight, he added.
