All exams scheduled for today (Tuesday, July 22) under the National University have been postponed following a tragic military jet crash at Milestone School and College in Uttara, Dhaka.
In an urgent notice issued Tuesday morning, the university stated:
A Bangladesh Air Force training aircraft crashed into the premises of Milestone School and College in Uttara, resulting in significant loss of life and property. In light of the tragic event and the interim government's declaration of a national day of mourning, all National University exams scheduled for July 22 have been suspended.
The rescheduled dates for the postponed exams will be announced later. However, the notice confirmed that all other exams will proceed as per the previously announced schedule.

Earlier today, due to the crash and resulting casualties, HSC and equivalent exams for the day were also called off. Exams scheduled for Tuesday included Chemistry (theory) Paper 2, Islamic History & Culture Paper 2 (Humanities), History Paper 2, Home Management & Family Life Paper 2, and Production Management & Marketing Paper 2.
The horrific accident occurred on Monday (July 21) shortly after 1:00 PM when a Bangladesh Air Force fighter jet lost control and crashed into a building inside Milestone School and College. Both the aircraft and the building caught fire immediately upon impact. Many students were present in the building at the time, leading to a high number of casualties.
Emergency response units, including eight teams from the Fire Service, rushed to the scene, later joined by the military and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) for rescue operations. The injured were airlifted by military helicopters for urgent medical attention.
As of the latest reports, the confirmed death toll has risen to 27, including 25 children. Over 100 students and civilians are currently being treated for injuries, according to Dr. Md. Sayedur Rahman, Special Assistant on Health Affairs to the Chief Adviser.
