Jamaat-e-Islami Announces Nationwide March on August 5

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has announced plans to hold peaceful marches across the country on Tuesday, August 5, to mark the first anniversary of the July 2024 mass movement.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the party’s Secretary General and former Member of Parliament, Professor Mia Golam Parwar, called on leaders and members from all metropolitan and district branches to actively take part in the event.

“As part of our month-long programme to commemorate the historic July uprising, we urge all our organizational units and the general public to join the nationwide march on August 5,” said Parwar.

He also appealed to the authorities to ensure public safety and support efforts to maintain a peaceful atmosphere during the event.
