Rain or thundershower with temporary gusts or gales may occur at one or two places in Rangpur, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions till this evening. Apart from this, the weather in other parts of the country is likely to remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy skies, the Meteorological Office said.

This information was given in a forecast for the inland river ports of the country from 9:00 a.m. to the next 24 hours on Sunday (March 31).

In the forecast, gusty winds of 60 to 80 km per hour are likely to blow temporarily over Rajshahi, Pabna, Jessore, Kushtia, Faridpur, Madaripur, Dhaka and Comilla districts from west or north/west direction. At this time there may be rain or thunder. Therefore, the river ports of these areas have been asked to show warning signal number 2.

Apart from this, gusty or gale force winds at a speed of 45 to 60 km per hour are likely to blow temporarily over Tangail, Mymensingh, Sylhet, Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali and Chittagong districts from west or north/west direction. At this time there may be rain or thunder. The river ports in these areas have been asked to display warning signal number 1.

This trend of rainfall may continue in Chittagong and Sylhet divisions till Tuesday (April 2) evening, said the Meteorological Office.
