Police Identify a Suspect in the Shooting of Osman Hadi, Seek Public Assistance

Police have identified a suspected individual in connection with the shooting of Sharif Osman Hadi, a potential independent candidate in the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election.

According to the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), the suspect was identified after reviewing CCTV footage from the scene. Law enforcement authorities have urged the public to come forward with any information related to the individual.

The DMP shared this update through an official press release on Saturday, stating that operations are ongoing to track down those involved in the attack. Anyone with relevant information has been requested to contact the police.

Osman Hadi Still in Critical Condition

Osman Hadi, the convener of an organization called Inqilab Mancha, was shot on Friday afternoon at Box Culvert Road in the Purana Paltan area of the capital, a day after the election schedule was announced.

He was initially taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in critical condition, where he was placed on life support. Later, he was transferred to Evercare Hospital in Dhaka for advanced treatment.

According to representatives of Inqilab Mancha, Hadi remains in a serious condition and is not yet out of danger. They stated that his health condition cannot be conclusively assessed until at least 48 hours have passed.

Crowds of political supporters and well-wishers gathered at the hospital after news of the shooting spread.
