Munshiganj Development Project Approved with Key Role of Two Advisers, Road Widening to Begin in June
A major infrastructure development project in Munshiganj has been approved, with significant contributions from two prominent sons of the district—Home Affairs and Agriculture Adviser Jahangir Alam Chowdhury and Industries, Public Works, and Local Government (LGRD) Adviser Adilur Rahman Khan. Their active involvement and coordinated efforts played a crucial role in securing approval for the long-awaited project.
Under the project, the road from Muktarpur to the city bus terminal will be widened, aiming to ease traffic congestion and improve overall connectivity within the town. The expansion is expected to ensure smoother and safer movement for vehicles and pedestrians alike.
According to official sources, construction work is scheduled to begin in June, with most of the preparatory and administrative procedures already nearing completion. Although residents and commuters may face temporary inconvenience during the construction period, authorities say the long-term benefits will far outweigh the short-term disruptions.
Local residents noted that the Muktarpur–Bus Terminal road is one of the busiest and most important routes in Munshiganj. For years, the narrow width of the road has caused frequent traffic jams and hindered economic activity. Once completed, the widened road is expected to boost trade, facilitate daily commuting, and contribute significantly to the town’s overall development.
People from the area have welcomed the initiative, expressing gratitude to the advisers and urging the authorities to ensure timely and high-quality completion of the project.
