On Thursday, the fifth working day of the week, trading continued in the country’s currency market. The price of the US dollar remained unchanged today, marking the second consecutive day without any change.
According to Bangladesh Bank, the dollar’s highest rate today is BDT 122.38, the lowest is BDT 122.32, and the average stands at BDT 122.34. The dollar has experienced fluctuations since July of last year through the current January.
Among major currencies in the domestic market today, most have seen a decline in value. This includes the euro, pound, yen, Singapore dollar, yuan, and rupee. Only the Australian dollar recorded a rise in price.
Foreign currencies are generally sold in the open market at slightly higher rates than those published by the central bank. Changes in foreign exchange rates also affect the cost of business and trade in the country.
