After casting his ballot, Mamunul Haque, Ameer of Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis, said he would accept the election results provided there is no engineered crisis or major irregularity.

Mamunul Haque, who is contesting the Dhaka-13 constituency as a candidate of the 11-party electoral alliance led by Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, voted at around 8:00 a.m. on Thursday at the Physical Education College polling center in Mohammadpur, Dhaka. He spoke to journalists shortly afterward.

He stated that if the election proceeds through a normal and transparent process, without any significant disruption or artificial complications, and if voters are able to exercise their rights freely, then his party will accept whatever result emerges. “As long as the process remains natural and people can vote spontaneously, we will accept the outcome,” he said.

Voting for the 13th National Parliamentary Election and the accompanying referendum began at 7:30 a.m. and will continue uninterrupted until 4:30 p.m.

When asked whether he had observed any complications at polling stations, Mamunul Haque said that, so far, he had not noticed any major problems in his area. He described voter turnout as moderate—neither very high nor completely absent—and said the overall situation appeared calm and orderly.

Responding to questions about rumors circulating on social media the previous night, he said they had received reports of alleged irregularities and suspicious activities at several locations during the early hours. However, he noted that they did not have the opportunity to independently verify all the claims overnight. He added that the matter had been communicated to the authorities and remains a concern, though he refrained from providing detailed comments at this stage.
