Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has called on citizens to remain calm and patient, urging supporters to wait for the official program of the 11-party alliance led by the party.

The appeal was shared at 8:15 a.m. on Friday through Jamaat’s verified Facebook page, addressing the nation.

Voting for the 13th parliamentary election and referendum concluded on Thursday. According to unofficial figures available around 9:30 a.m. Friday, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and its allies secured 167 seats, while Jamaat and its partners won 59 seats.

In its statement, Jamaat expressed appreciation to voters for turning out in large numbers and participating peacefully throughout election day. However, the party also voiced dissatisfaction with the result compilation process.

The post highlighted several concerns, including narrow and what it described as questionable defeats of alliance candidates in multiple constituencies, repeated inconsistencies and allegedly fabricated data in unofficial results, the Election Commission’s reluctance to disclose voter turnout figures, and indications that parts of the administration favored a major political party. Jamaat said these issues raise serious doubts about the transparency of the results process.

The party urged everyone to remain patient and wait for the alliance’s formal course of action. It added that its struggle for justice and the vision of building a humane Bangladesh would continue.
