Bangladesh fast bowler Shariful Islam has secured a team in the Pakistan Super League despite going unsold in the player draft. He has now been signed directly by Peshawar Zalmi. The franchise confirmed the news on social media, announcing that Shariful will feature in the 11th edition of the tournament.

At Peshawar Zalmi, Shariful will reunite with fellow Bangladeshi pacer Nahid Rana, making it a notable pairing in the same squad.

This will be the 24-year-old’s first appearance in the PSL. Welcoming him, the franchise—nicknamed the “Yellow Storm”—highlighted his pace and potential to make an impact in their lineup.

Shariful has recently become a regular figure in Bangladesh’s pace attack across all formats. He is also in impressive form, having finished as the leading wicket-taker in the latest Bangladesh Premier League. Playing for Chattogram Royals, he claimed 26 wickets at an economy rate of 5.84—setting a record for the most wickets taken by a bowler in a single BPL season.

Interestingly, despite such performances, Shariful went unsold in last month’s PSL draft, where his base price was set at 11 million Pakistani rupees. He has now found a place through a direct signing.

He is not the only Bangladeshi cricketer heading to the PSL this season. Parvez Hossain Emon, Rishad Hossain, and Mustafizur Rahman are also set to participate.

Among them, Mustafizur—widely known as the “cutter master”—has attracted major attention after being signed directly by Lahore Qalandars for 64.4 million rupees. He will be joined in the same squad by Parvez.

Meanwhile, leg-spinner Rishad Hossain has been picked up by Rawalpindi Pindi Boys for 30 million rupees. Rishad previously represented Lahore Qalandars and was part of their title-winning campaign last season.
