In the final days of Ramadan, Nasiruddin Patwari, Chief Coordinator of the National Citizens Party (NCP), has turned to voluntary worship and spiritual reflection. Ahead of this, he issued a public apology for any unintended mistakes and promised to avoid making “unnecessary” remarks in the future.
In a post on his verified Facebook account early Wednesday, he said that if any of his words or actions had unintentionally hurt anyone, he sincerely apologizes. He added that the prayers, support, and advice from well-wishers are a source of strength for him.
After speaking with senior friends, political allies, and well-wishers, he said he received guidance to avoid personal attacks, steer clear of unnecessary talk, and focus on constructive discussions. He expressed his commitment to follow this advice and act more calmly and responsibly in the future.
Patwari has recently been in the spotlight since becoming a candidate in the Dhaka-8 constituency for the upcoming parliamentary elections. He had faced criticism earlier for his aggressive remarks against rival candidate Mirza Abbas of the BNP.
He also shared that since the start of Ramadan, he has been visiting different districts to perform Taraweeh prayers, and recently began a quiet spiritual journey through night prayers (Qiyamul Lail) at a mosque in Dhanmondi.
Concluding his post, he pledged to move forward with humility while continuing to contribute to the country’s political, economic, and cultural progress in a more positive and constructive manner.
