
Following the re-scrutiny of this year’s Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination under the Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board, 286 students have newly achieved the highest GPA-5.
Additionally, 293 students who had initially failed were declared pass after their papers were reviewed. The revised results were released today, Sunday.
According to Dhaka Education Board’s Senior System Analyst Manjurul Kabir, a total of 92,676 candidates applied for the re-evaluation of 222,533 answer scripts. Among them, 2,946 students saw their grades change.
The original SSC and equivalent exam results were announced on 10 July. Across nine general education boards, 1,479,310 students sat for the SSC exam, with 1,006,554 passing. This year’s pass rate was 68.04 percent, a sharp drop from 83.77 percent in the previous year.
The number of GPA-5 scorers had also fallen by 38,827 compared to last year. Initially, 125,018 students obtained GPA-5, which has now slightly increased following the re-evaluation process.
