Karnaphuli Express Bogie Derails Near Brahmanbaria, Train Service Disrupted

A bogie of the Chattogram-bound Karnaphuli Express went off the tracks near a railway crossing outside Brahmanbaria Railway Station this afternoon, temporarily halting operations on the down line.

Railway officials said the incident occurred around 3:20 pm, shortly after the train had departed the station following a scheduled stop.

Shakir Jahan, assistant station master at Brahmanbaria Railway Station, reported that the train’s “Cha” coach derailed with a loud crash, blocking the down line. Services between Dhaka and Chattogram, as well as Dhaka and Sylhet, continued on the up line without interruption.

A rescue train from Akhaura Junction has been sent to the site to recover the derailed bogie, while the cause of the accident will be determined after a thorough investigation.
