Road Transport and Bridges Minister and Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said that after the robbery of three banks in Ruma and Thanchi of Bandarban, robbery of weapons by police-Ansar, attack on police station and abduction of bank manager, a joint operation is now underway in the hills. He said these things while participating virtually in the opening ceremony of the 5 flyovers built under SASEC Road Link Project-2 (Elenga-Hatikumrul-Rangpur Highway) at the Ministry’s meeting room at the Secretariat this Saturday morning.

The minister said, I hope the situation in the hills will come under control. Obaidul Quader said that there is no reason for the entire mountain to be disturbed. The investigation is going on as to why this happened suddenly. A joint operation is underway to ensure that the situation does not deteriorate further.

He also said, they are terrorists. I don’t think they are being supported. A thorough investigation will reveal everything.
