Two people died due to falling tree and lightning in Kalbaisakhi in Bauphal upazila of Patuakhali. Two fishermen are missing after being caught in a storm while fishing in the river. Apart from this, thousands of trees, hundreds of houses and educational institutions have been destroyed by the storm.

 

Today, Sunday, from 11:15 to 11:30, the storm continues. Thunderstorms begin in the midst of gusty winds and rain. In an instant, the entire area became completely dark. The people inside and outside the house were terrified. Especially children are more afraid.

According to investigation, under the influence of gusty winds, resident of Char Algi village of Daspara Union, Ahmed Paydar, his wife Safia Khatun (80) died after a tree fell on her house. Resident of Ray Tanterkathi village of Nazirpur Union. Zahir Sikder’s schoolboy son. Ratul Sikder (13) died of cardiac arrest due to lightning. Two fishermen named Ismail and Ibrahim of Chandradwip union went missing while fishing in Tentulia river. Apart from this, eight cattle died in Daspara, Charminpur, Kachipara, Chandradwip villages outside the upazila due to lightning. 22 power poles are down and power supply is off. Baufal Thana-Police confirmed the truth of these facts.

 

The tin canopy of the teaching building of Baufal Salehia Fazil Madrasa was blown away by the gusty winds. A tin shed building of Karpoorkathi Secondary School was destroyed. The house of Mannan Howladar of Nazirpur village was destroyed by falling trees.
