The third terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport was supposed to be handed over last Saturday. However, the Japanese contractor company Mitsubishi has asked for an additional six months due to several remaining works.

Officials of Bangladesh Civil Aviation Authority (BAB) said on Sunday that the contractor could not hand over the third terminal to BAB on Saturday as the work was not completed. Bebichak can officially understand this next September.

Babychak Chairman Air Vice Marshal Mofidur Rahman told Samakal that due to some logical reasons, 5 percent of the work of the third terminal has not been completed yet. That is why the contracting company has asked for additional time for handover. A meeting will be held with the contractor after Eid regarding this proposal.

He also said that the dream terminal will be officially opened for passengers next October. For this purpose, the contractor has been urged to complete the work. Apart from this, there will be no additional cost in the project even if the handover is delayed.
