Maximum number of policemen will be engaged in Eid-centric security

The law and order forces have planned to cover the whole country with a blanket of security to deal with any untoward situation during the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr. Apart from police, RAB, Ansar members will be in the field at this time. Meanwhile, 34-point instructions have been given to all operational units including the District Superintendent of Police (SP) from the police headquarters to maintain law and order. It has also been ordered to work with utmost caution and sincerity in the implementation of these instructions.

 

It has been informed from the police headquarters that this time maximum number of policemen will be engaged in Eid-centric security. Because of this, the leave of the policemen has also been limited.

Besides, RAB has prepared a security plan by identifying the crime-prone areas of the country and dividing them into red and yellow zones. At least 8,000 RAB members will be in the field for Eid-centric security. Besides, about 65,000 members of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Forces will be in the field to support law and order forces. Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has drawn a separate security table with special emphasis on the capital.

 

According to the 34 instructions given by the police headquarters, a large number of people will leave the capital and go to the villages during five consecutive days of public holidays including Eid and Bengali New Year. At this time, there is a danger of theft, robbery, robbery, activities of unconscious and malam parties, extortion and use of fake money. Maximum security has been ordered.

Police Headquarters DIG (Operations; promoted to Additional IGP) Md. Anwar Hossain told media that special plans have been taken for overall security during the Eid holidays. At this time, the houses will be empty as people leave for the village. Thieves and robbers are active in this opportunity. Special instructions have been given in this regard as well.

 

He also said that the first Baisakh is after Eid. On this day, the police are working to ensure that the Mangal processions can go smoothly. The police have been instructed to ensure overall security including sweeping, archways, checking with metal detectors in every place where the annual festival will be held, including Ramna Botmul, BICC in Dhaka.

 

Six levels of security measures have also been taken by RAB. Director of Law and Media Branch of RAB, Commander Khandaker Al Moin, told media that area-based intelligence activities and patrols have been strengthened for the safety of people during Eid. At this time, a total of eight thousand RAB members will be active in white clothes in addition to uniforms. We have divided some areas into red zone and yellow zone. Deserted areas have been identified.
