2 of the 23 sailors of the MV Abdullah ship, freed from the hostage situation, want to return home from Dubai by plane. The remaining 21 sailors will board the ship from Dubai and return home. It is known that 2 people will return to the country by plane, although the owner requested everyone to return home together by ship. One of them is second engineer Mojaherul Islam Chowdhury. Another steward is Mohammad Noor Uddin.

The ship will dock in Dubai on April 22. The owner of the ship will start the process of returning the sailors to the country only after the cargo release process is over there. The sailors will bring him home the way he wants to come.

Mehrul Karim, CEO of KSRM said, two sailors want to return home by air from Dubai. One of them is the second engineer of the ship. Another steward. The remaining 21 will return home from Dubai on that ship. We will decide when and how the 2 will return home after the ship anchors. We will bring whoever wants to come.

Before the ship including the sailors are freed from the pirates, the ship owner keeps the list of where the sailors will sign off from. According to their instructions, the sailors also gave a list to the captain in this regard. In that list, 18 of the ship’s 23 sailors said they would sign off from the UAE port. The remaining five said that they will sign off when the ship reaches Chittagong port. But now most of the ship’s sailors have changed their minds. Most of the sailors now want to return home in the MV Abdullah ship.

On April 14, a breathtaking incident ended on the coast of Somalia. That day a small aircraft was circling the stranded MV Abdullah. Then all 23 sailors came to the deck of the ship. They all raised their hands and spoke in a video message. After confirming that the 23 were safe and sound, the owner agreed to pay the ransom. Then the little plane made three circles to one side of the ship. At each round a dollar bag wrapped in white waterproof tape is dropped from the top. 7 pirates in two speed boats picked up these three bags from the sea. After they got the bag, the plane took off. About eight hours later, the pirates released the ship along with 23 sailors at 3 pm Bangladesh time.

14 years ago, two bags full of dollars were thrown from the ship MV Jahan Mani, which fell into the hands of pirates. But in MV Abdullah’s case there were three bags. KSRM Group DMD Shahriar Jahan Rahat did not comment directly when asked about the matter. He only said, “Because of the Code of Contract, we cannot say anything about it.” It is our great relief that the ship is free with the sailors. Please don’t ask anything about the ransom.’

DMD Shahriar Jahan Rahat said in a press conference held last Sunday that the ship will go to the United Arab Emirates on April 19-20. After that, necessary measures will be taken including bringing the sailors back to the country. But now it has been postponed by two days to April 22. Media advisor Mizanul Islam said, we will bring him back the way the sailors want to return.

Incidentally, the Bangladeshi ship MV Abdullah with 23 sailors was taken hostage by Somali pirates from the Indian Ocean on March 12.
