I lost my mother in dengue, no one else should: Minister of Health and Family Welfare

Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Samant Lal Sen said, My mother died of dengue I understand this pain So, I have concerns about dengue I lost my mother to dengue, no one else should. So everyone must work together to prevent dengue.

 

The health minister said these things to the people present at the chief guest’s speech at the program on preparedness related to dengue organized by BRAC and UHC Forum at Sirdap Auditorium in the capital today.

Placing special emphasis on dengue prevention, the health minister also said that prevention is better than cure for any disease. We will be able to prevent dengue successfully only if we work unitedly with the participation of everyone by carrying out awareness campaigns in this regard.

Urging everyone to work together to eradicate mosquitoes, the Minister said, the Ministry of Local Government and City Corporation and citizens and families should be aware of this. Besides, proper instructions have been given so that there is no saline shortage and price hike in case of dengue infection. Government hospitals along with private hospitals have also been ordered to be ready for this.

 

Applauding the development of the indigenous kit for dengue detection, the minister further said that if this kit is approved by DG Drug, the health care department will take initiative to market it widely at low cost and easily available.
