Canada-bound flight makes emergency landing at Shahjalal International Airport

A Canada-bound Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight made an emergency landing at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport due to a mechanical fault. There were 284 passengers on this flight.

On Tuesday (May 14), Biman Bangladesh Airlines sources said that Biman’s Toronto flight (BG-305) took off from Dhaka to Istanbul, Turkey at 4:20 am today. The flight was bound for Toronto with oil from Istanbul. However, the pilot decided to return home when a mechanical failure occurred in the sky of Lucknow, India. The flight made an emergency landing in Dhaka around 7:30 am.

Later at 11 o’clock the flight left for Istanbul with the passengers. The plane landed in Istanbul at the scheduled time and left for Toronto, Canada.

If you want to know, Biman’s manager (public relations) Md. Al Masood Khan told the media that the pilot noticed a minor technical fault after the flight took off. He didn’t want to take the risk. Immediately decided to return to Dhaka. Then the flight left for Canada again via Istanbul.
