Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said that the pillars of Metrorail have been filled with posters. They are unclean, dirty. We are not at all focused on using metrorails. Metrorail is our asset.

He said these things at the branding seminar of Dhaka Metrorail organized by Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) at a five-star hotel in the capital on Sunday (May 19).

Obaidul Quader said, our NBR suddenly announced 15 percent VAT on the popular transport Metrorail. I have informed the matter to the honorable Prime Minister. This decision of NBR is wrong. It doesn’t happen. By this the reputation of Metrorail is ruined. The Prime Minister has assured that it will be reconsidered.

He said, our metro rail is very beautiful. There is no noise pollution here. Three lakh people are going from Uttara to Motijheel.
