Rampura road blocked by auto rickshaw drivers, severe traffic jam

On Sunday, drivers blocked roads, vandalized cars, set fires and chased each other with the police for the demand of running auto-rickshaws in the capital. The autorickshaw drivers blocked the Rampura area from 9:45 am on Monday (May 20) with the same demand.

It has been found that autorickshaw drivers have blocked the road in front of Rampura Better Life Hospital demanding to run autorickshaws. Traffic stopped on both sides of the road. Heavy traffic has been created.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Rampura Police Station. Moshiur Rahman told the media that this morning the drivers took to the streets to demand autorickshaws. So far they have blocked the road. Heavy traffic has been created. Additional police have been deployed to control the situation.

Meanwhile, the road blockade has caused severe traffic jams. Many office-goers were seen getting off the bus and resorting to walking and ride-sharing.
