The Mayor Atiqul Islam of Dhaka North City Corporation gave urgent instructions to the concerned officers to deal with Cyclone Remal.

He gave this instruction in an emergency meeting at Gulshan Nagar Bhaban in the capital on Sunday (May 26).

The instructions include cancellation of all types of leave of the concerned officers, preparation of quick response teams for quick water drainage, quick removal of any tree falling in the storm and blocking the road, and coming forward with all kinds of cooperation from the city dwellers. Apart from this, the Mayor urged the citizens to call DNCC hotline 16106 in case of emergency.

In this regard, Atiqul Islam said that a strong cyclone can hit the coast at any time. The Meteorological Office has predicted heavy rainfall due to this. All concerned officials and employees should be diligent so that the city dwellers do not suffer due to storms and heavy rains. In particular, the engineering department and the waste management department will undertake the activities in a coordinated manner.

He said that everyone should be alert so that there is no waterlogging anywhere in the city due to rainfall. If any road is blocked somewhere, it should be cleared quickly. Quick response team will work round the clock.
