Residents of the capital were battered by intermittent rain with gusty winds under the influence of Cyclone Remal. Heavy rains on Monday morning (May 27) have multiplied the waterlogging crisis in various areas. On top of that, the metro rail was closed for 3 hours and the workers suffered greatly at the station.

Not only the coast was forecast, strong Cyclone Remal will affect more or less the entire country. Remal comes to the capital according to the forecast! But not as devastating as on the coast, the brick city was affected by stormy winds and torrential rain.

Night drizzle in the capital turned into heavy rain in the morning. Workers have to go out for work. Due to gusts with rain, the umbrella was blown away. However, after the uncomfortably hot weather of the last few days, most of the people expressed relief as the nature cooled down a bit.

A private employee named Nazmul Hossain at Banglamotor said that after a few days of heat, nature has cooled down with rain. But with the rain and strong wind from all sides, we have to get into trouble with the umbrella. I am going to the office wet. I left home for office long ago. It’s getting too late though.

A worker named Mehdi Hasan said that it was difficult to sleep in the hot weather for a few days. The rain is very relaxing. Had a good night’s sleep. But due to waterlogging, going to the office has to get a lot of speed.

As the day progresses, the rain increases. Along with that, the fear of flooding increases. Around noon, familiar waterlogging occurred in some places in Kazipara, Sheorapara and Green Road areas. Suffering increases another step. Due to the increase in public transport crisis due to rain and flooding, many people complained of charging extra fares for alternative transport.

Kamrul Islam, who works in a private company, said that on other days I can go to the office with a rickshaw fare of Tk 20. Today no one wants to go there under 50 rupees. Forced to pay extra fare.

On the one hand, the Metrorail is a place of trust for the people in the crisis, but the transport failed to serve the people of Nakal in the morning. Many people missed the office due to the long time traffic was stopped due to unknown reasons. Sometimes users are frustrated by such inconsiderate actions of Metrorail.

City Corporation staff were present in the field to resolve the waterlogging caused by Remal.

Meanwhile, the Meteorological Office says that from 9 am on Monday, there may be light to moderate rain or thunder with temporary gusty or windy winds in most parts of all the divisions for the next 24 hours. Also, moderate to very heavy rainfall may occur in some parts of the country.

Heavy to very heavy rains may continue till Tuesday (May 28). However, the trend of thunderstorms may continue till Wednesday (May 29).
