Cyclone Remal destroyed 2 lakh houses, 16 people died

Cyclone Remal has killed 16 people in 7 districts of the country. Apart from this, nearly 2 lakh houses have been destroyed in 19 districts along the coast.

Of these, 40,338 have been completely destroyed. Moreover, 1 lakh 33 thousand 528 houses were partially destroyed.

On Wednesday (May 29), the National Disaster Response Coordination Center under the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief reported these information in the daily disaster report.

Earlier, Cyclone Remal hit Bangladesh last Sunday night. The storm caused extensive damage. Many coastal areas were inundated by the tide.

According to the latest information from the Daily Disaster Report, the most number of houses were destroyed in Khulna district. 20 thousand 762 houses were completely destroyed in this district. 10 thousand houses were destroyed in Bagerhat. The rest are in different districts.

According to the information of the daily disaster report, the number of people affected by this storm is about 46 lakh.

On Monday, the day after Cyclone Remal, State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Muhibbur Rahman said that 35 thousand 483 houses were completely destroyed. Besides, 1 lakh 14 thousand 992 houses were partially destroyed.
