Chief Justice for one week is M Inayetur Rahim

Since Chief Justice Obaidul Hasan is staying in the United States from March 22 to 31, M Inayetur Rahim, the senior judge of the Appellate Division, will serve as the Acting Chief Justice during this period.

 

This information was given in a statement of the Supreme Court administration on Saturday.

It is known that the Chief Justice of Bangladesh will meet the Chief Justice of the United States on March 27. Therefore, in the absence of the Chief Justice, Senior Justice M Inayetur Rahim of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh will serve as the Chief Justice.

 

M Inayetur Rahim was born on November 8, 1960 in Dinajpur. Later, he took LLB degree after his graduation from the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism of Dhaka University. After that, he started his legal career from 1986 and became a lawyer in the Appellate Division in 2002. At one time he served as Additional Attorney General.

 

After joining the High Court Division as an additional judge in 2009, Justice M. settled in the High Court in 2011. Inayetur Rahim. He was sworn in as a judge of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court on January 9, 2022 after serving as the chairman of the International Criminal Tribunal.

 

At the same time, he is serving as the Chairman of Bangladesh Judicial Service Commission.
