A ‘shy monkey’ of an endangered species has been rescued from Katachhari Nahinpara area of ​​Rangamati Sadar Upazila.

After the monkey was rescued on Monday (June 3) morning, it was released in the deep forest of Kaptai National Park in Rangamati in the afternoon.

Kaptai Range Officer ASM Mohiuddin Chowdhury confirmed the matter.

It is known that the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) of Chittagong Hill Tracts South Forest Division. Under the guidance of Zahidur Rahman Mia, Kaptai range officer ASM Mohiuddin Chowdhury and forest department staff released the monkey in Kaptai National Park.

In this regard ASM Mohiuddin Chowdhury said, Monday morning Rangamati headquarters range officer Md. Abdul Hamid along with forest department members rescued the monkey from a nest in Katchari new neighborhood of Rangamati Sadar Upazila. It was later released in the deep forest of Kaptai National Park on Monday afternoon.

Earlier on May 28, another shy monkey rescued from the locality was released in Kaptai National Park by the members of the forest department.
