Farmer dies due to lightning in Jamalpur

A farmer named Farid Uddin (32) died due to lightning in Sarishabari of Jamalpur. 2 more people were seriously injured. The injured were first sent to Sarishabari Health Complex Hospital and later to Jamalpur General Hospital.

It is known that Farid Uddin, son of farmer Sanaullah, a resident of Char Sarishabari Purvapara village of Satpoa Union of Sarishabari Upazila, went to cut paddy in his own land at 9:30 am on Tuesday (June 4). At that time, when it started raining, he was suddenly struck by lightning on the way home. Farid died on the spot.

Meanwhile, farmer Shah Jalal (52) and his son Chabur (25) of the same village were seriously injured. At least 2 people were first admitted to Sarishabari Hospital. Later, when the condition worsened, they were sent to Jamalpur General Hospital for better treatment.

Satpoa union chairman Abu Taher confirmed the matter.

Sarishabari police station OC Mushfiqur Rahman said, heard the incident and sent the police to investigate.
