63 thousand 141 pilgrims reached Saudi Arabia, 11 Bangladeshis have died so far

Another Bangladeshi, Mumtaz Begum (63), died in Saudi Arabia while performing the holy Hajj. With this, a total of 11 pilgrims died in the country.

Meanwhile, 63 thousand 141 pilgrims have reached Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj so far (June 6 at 2:59 PM). They reached Saudi Arabia by a total of 162 flights. Among them, 4 thousand 165 pilgrims reached Saudi Arabia under government management and 58 thousand 976 pilgrims under private management. 100% of visas are issued against applications.

This information was given in the latest Hajj bulletin on Thursday (June 6). Airlines, Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh, Bangladesh Hajj Office Dhaka and Saudi Arabia have informed this information on helpdesk.

According to helpdesk information, out of total 162 flights so far, Biman Bangladesh Airlines has operated 85 flights, Saudi Airlines 51 and Flinus Airlines 26 flights. As of Wednesday (June 6), 77.3 percent of total flights, and 76 percent of total Haj pilgrims, have arrived in Saudi Arabia.

So far, 11 Hajj pilgrims have died in Saudi Arabia. Eight of them died in Makkah, including the last, Mumtaz Begum. Three died in Medina.

On May 9, the first dedicated flight of Bangladesh Airlines departed for Saudi Arabia with 415 pilgrims. With this, the official journey of this year’s Hajj begins. The last Hajj flight will be on June 12.

This year, 85 thousand 252 people will go to Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj with guides under government and private management. Among them, 4 thousand 562 people have officially registered. And 80 thousand 695 people registered privately. 1 thousand 899 pilgrims will be accompanied by one guide for every 44 persons.

Hajj may be held on June 16 subject to sighting of the moon in Saudi Arabia. The number of agencies participating in Hajj activities is 259. The first return flight of pilgrims is on June 20 and the last return flight is on July 22.
