The ‘Puran Dhaka Journalist Forum’ has been established under the authority’s eye to highlight the culture and traditions of Puran Dhaka at home and abroad and to address various problems. Zafarul Alam, deputy online in-charge of Bangladesher Alo, was elected president and Mahmood Saleheen Khan, co-editor of Alokito Bangladesh, was elected general secretary.
On Thursday (June 6) at noon at the organization’s permanent office in Shingtola, Sutrapur, Old Dhaka, a secret ballot and full committee was announced unanimously. Puran Dhaka Journalist Forum has been formed based on the priority of local voters who have lived in Old Dhaka for many years.
Mostafizur Rahman Mostak of Sangbad Sarabela, Joy Pradeep Barua of Asian Television, Moniruzzaman Apurba of Ganakantha, Hasan Imam Imran of Gazi Television have been elected as vice presidents in the new committee. Mustakim Nibir of Kolkata Television and Faisal Tanu of Amader Samay have been elected as joint Secretary. Nargis Akhtar Jui of Bangladesh Television, Co-Organizing Editor Abu Yusuf of Manob Kantho, Treasurer Suman Dutta of Dhaka News24., Office Editor Mahfuz Mukul of NTV, Publicity and Publication Editor Shariful Haque Pavel of Nowroz, Co-Publicity Editor Azizul of Desh Bangla were elected as Organizing Secretary. Yuvraj, welfare editor Syed Mahbub Rahman of Prothom Prohor, training and research editor Rakesh Zubair of Manob Kantho, sports editor Ahsan Habib Suman of Krialok, cultural editor Yusuf Howladar Dipu of BaisakhiNews24.com, international editor SM Babar Kabir of Pratham Prahar. Apart from this, among the executive members are Latif Rana of Sokaler Somoy, Kallol Karmakar of Desh Rupantor, Saif Ahmed of Alokito Bangladesh.
Before this, the previous convening committee of the organization had to be declared dissolved. After the declaration of dissolution, a full committee is declared on the basis of unanimous opinion on the majority of the issues.
