Eid is only one day left. The crowd of homebound people is increasing in buses, launches and railway stations. Bangladesh Railway has launched special trains along with regular trains to bring passengers home on Eid journey. A total of 69 trains including 2 special trains will leave from Kamalapur Railway Station to different districts of the country on the fourth day of Eid Yatra.

On Saturday (June 15), Kamalapur Railway Station Manager Mohammad Masud Sarwar told reporters this information.

He said, Eid journey by train has started from June 12. The passengers of the trains that we operated from Dhaka to various destinations in the country in the last three days have reached their respective destinations safely and without suffering. Several trains have left Dhaka since this morning. All trains left the station at the specified time. Passengers are quite happy with our management. This time I have seen less trend of traveling without ticket, passengers have become aware.

The station manager said, Bangladesh Railway’s own security forces, GRP, DMP, RAB and other forces of the country have jointly cooperated with us. With everyone’s collective efforts, we have been able to offer a beautiful, hassle-free and safe Eid journey. So far there has been no schedule disruption. All levels of railway officials and employees, Ministry of Railways and monitoring teams of all levels of railways are working.

In response to a question about ticket black market, he said that our number of trains is insufficient compared to the demand. We managed to sell 33,500 intercity tickets, we had no chance of going beyond that. But against this 33 thousand 500 tickets the demand was huge. About 4 to 5 lakh people wanted to leave Dhaka in this intercity train. Most of the passengers might not be able to book tickets online. Now the massive demand for these tickets, capitalizing on it, a class of fraudsters have cheated many people by printing and editing tickets. RAB caught them.

Masud Sarwar also said that our Eid journey will end tomorrow. All the activities are done to ensure that everything is normal till the last day and the passengers can reach their respective destinations smoothly. With everyone’s collective efforts and cooperation, we have been able to present a beautiful Eid trip.
