Sleeping child died in Cox’s Bazar landslide

A 12-year-old boy named Abdul Karim died in a landslide in Cox’s Bazar’s Ukhia. The incident took place in Chorakhola of Thaningkhali ward number 4 of the upazila on Wednesday morning.

 

Deceased Abdul Karim Ukhiyar is the son of Shah Alam of Thaingkhali Ward No. 4 of Palangkhali Union. He was a 6th standard student of Thyngkhali High School.

 

Father of the deceased. Shah Alam said, everyone in the house slept after eating and drinking at night. Heavy rain started in the middle of the night. In the morning, a mountain suddenly fell from the Rohingya camp next to the house and fell into our house. At that time some of us could get out but my son Abdul Karim could not get out. He fell to the ground and died. We are injured.

 

Palongkhali Union Parishad Chairman MA Gafur Uddin Chowdhury said that due to heavy rain, Thaingkhali No. 14 Rohingya camp collapsed at Shah Alam’s house. At this time, Abdul Karim died. The matter has been informed to UNO and other concerned parties.
