Monsoon is active over Bangladesh and strong over North Bay of Bengal, Meteorological Department said. As a result, there may be heavy rains in the whole country for the next five days.

This information was given in a forecast for the next 48 hours of the Directorate on Monday.

It is said that the low pressure over West Bengal and adjoining areas has coincided with the monsoon axis. The monsoon axis extends through Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal and central Bangladesh to Assam.

As a result, most places of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions may experience light to moderate rain/thunder with gusty winds temporarily. Also, moderate to very heavy rainfall may occur in some parts of the country.

Day and night temperatures may remain almost unchanged across the country on this day.

Weather as it will be on Tuesday: Light to moderate rain/thunderstorm with temporary gusty winds may occur in most places of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions. Also, moderate to very heavy rainfall may occur in some parts of the country.

Day and night temperatures may remain almost unchanged across the country on this day. Besides, the trend of rainfall may continue for the next five days.
