Chittagong has recorded 68.5 millimeters of rainfall in 24 hours on Monday. Suffering has increased due to continuous rains. Especially the people going to educational institutions and offices reached their destinations in a hurry due to lack of vehicles.

This continuous rain is due to active southwest monsoon. Due to the same reason, convective clouds are forming in the North Bay of Bengal area. Apart from this there is a lot of variation in air pressure. Gusts and gusty winds are likely to blow over coastal areas and ports. Due to this, Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra seaports have been asked to show local warning signal number 3. The weather office said that the rain will continue on Tuesday.

According to the Meteorological Department, 68.5 millimeters of rain has been recorded in the previous 24 hours till 3 pm on Monday.

Patenga Meteorological Department Assistant Meteorologist Md. Ali Akbar Khan said that moderate to heavy rainfall will continue in the next 24 hours. Due to this, a local warning signal number 3 has been issued to the ports as well as a landslide or landslide warning in Chittagong.

Meanwhile, the continuous rain for three days has increased public suffering. During heavy rains, waterlogging occurs in some areas of Baklia, Chandgaon, Kapasgola, Halishahar, low-lying areas of the city. This flooding occurs when tidal water mixes with rain.

The attendance of students in various educational institutions of the city has decreased due to continuous rain since this morning. Many reached the educational institution wet. At 11 o’clock in the Jamalkhan intersection of the city Dr. Students of Khastgir Girls High School and St. Mary’s School throng. Most of them are wet. A parent named Saidul Haque said that rickshaws and CNG-powered auto-rickshaws are less. So I had to walk and bring my daughter to school.
