Seven members of the same family were swept away by strong currents in a suddenly rising water body in Lonavala near Mumbai, India. Later, the police recovered the bodies of three people. Two of those who were swept away somehow managed to swim back to shore, while two others remain missing.

The incident happened in front of many people’s eyes. The video of the entire incident has come to social and media.

The family’s last moments have been captured in a shocking video. It is seen that they are standing on a rock in the middle of the rushing water, holding each other and trying to move forward little by little.

In less than a minute, the rushing water swept them away. As they floated down, they screamed for help.

The family of seven, like hundreds of other tourists, had gone for a holiday in the hill town of Lonavala, 80 km southeast of Mumbai. On Sunday around 1.30 pm, they went for a picnic at the waterfall near the local Bhusi dam lake.

Due to heavy rain in the area since this morning, the water in the dam was overflowing. Due to the addition of this water, the water flow of the waterfall also increased. Other tourists who were there rushed to the shore to try to help them, but no one could jump in because of the frenzy of the rushing water.

Later, locals and police reached the spot and started searching for the survivors with ropes and trekking gear.

According to the police, the tourists were swept away by the water of the waterfall and fell into the water below.
