President urges more training for Guard Regiment

The President urged the President Guard Regiment for more training to ensure flawless security of the most important person of the state. Sahabuddin. He urged this at the 49th anniversary ceremony of the Presidential Guard Regiment (PGR) on Saturday (July 6).

President Md. Sahabuddin said that PGRK training is necessary to ensure flawless security of important persons. PGR must work to enlighten the future with the lessons of the past and history.

The President said that the induction of modern weaponry in the Presidential Guard Regiment will further enhance operational efficiency. This anniversary day is a special day for every Guards member.

He said that as members of PGR created by Bangabandhu, they are working for the welfare of the country and people. No doubt it is a matter of great joy and glory.

Chief of Army Staff General Waqar-uz-Zaman and PGR Commander Brigadier General Khaled Kamal welcomed the President at the PGR Darbar at the Martyr Captain Hafiz Hall of PGR Headquarters, Dhaka Cantonment.

This specialized unit of Bangladesh Army was established in July 1975 by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The President took part in the 49th anniversary ceremony. Sahabuddin. The PGR members present saluted him by playing the national anthem.
