The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has predicted that light to moderate rain or rain with thunder may occur in all parts of the country including Dhaka in the next 24 hours from 9 am on Sunday.

According to the weather forecast, light to moderate rain with gusty winds may occur temporarily in many places of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and in some places of Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal and Chittagong divisions. Along with this, moderate to heavy rainfall may occur somewhere in Rangpur division. Up to 6 am on Sunday, Jessore has recorded the highest rainfall of 120 mm in the country in 24 hours. Also, day and night temperatures may increase slightly across the country.

Yesterday and today’s maximum and minimum temperatures of 34.2 and 24.3 degrees Celsius were recorded at Ishwardi and Bandarban in Pabna respectively.

Meanwhile, the monsoon axis extends over Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal and central Bangladesh to Assam. An extension of it extends to the northern Bay of Bengal. Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay of Bengal.
