Two motorcycle riders were killed in a head-on collision between a truck and a motorcycle at Satkania on the Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar highway. This accident took place in the BOC junction area of ​​Kaliaish Union of Satkania on Monday morning. The two young people killed are Nahid Hasan (19) son of Mohammad Yushup of Danamiar Bazar area of ​​Machimpur Sudharam of Noakhali and Md. of East Ezbalia area. Abdur Rab’s son Ariful Islam (19).

According to the police, a cargo truck collided with a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction at around five in the morning. Two youths riding a motorcycle were injured. On receiving the information, the patrol team of Dohazari Highway Police Station came to the spot with the help of local residents and rescued the two and took them to the neighboring Dohazari Government Hospital. The doctor on duty there declared Nahid Hasan dead. Ariful Islam was seriously injured and shifted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital. Ariful Islam died around 10 am while undergoing treatment.

Jamal Uddin, uncle of deceased Nahid Hasan, said that Nahid Hasan and Ariful Islam were close friends. The two went on a motorcycle trip to Cox’s Bazar a few days ago. Two died in a road accident while returning home from there.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Dohazari Highway Police Station Khan Mohammad Irfan told the media that the driver of the truck fled after the accident. The truck and the motorcycle were recovered and kept in the custody of the Highway Police. The bodies of the two dead youths were handed over to their relatives in the afternoon. The relatives of one of the dead youths filed a written complaint at the Satkania police station.
