Winds with a maximum speed of 60 km can blow over 12 regions of the country including Dhaka. Thunderstorm is expected at this time. So the river ports have been asked to show warning signal number 1.

 

A warning issued for the country’s inland river ports till 1pm on Saturday (July 13) stated this fear.

Meteorologist Md. The advisory signed by Shahinul Islam said that a temporary gust of 45 to 60 km per hour from south or southeast over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Faridpur, Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Comilla, Noakhali, Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar and Sylhet districts or A gale may blow. Rain or thundershowers may also occur.

 

Therefore, the river ports in these areas have been asked to show warning signal number 1.

Meanwhile, according to another notification of the Meteorological Office, Monsoon is active over Bangladesh and moderate to strong over North Bay of Bengal. In this situation, light to moderate rain/thunder with gusty winds may occur in most places of Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions and many places of Dhaka, Rajshahi, Khulna and Barisal divisions today. Along with this, moderate to very heavy rainfall may occur at some places in Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions.

 

It is expected that the trend of thunderstorms and heavy rains in different parts of the country will continue till Monday (July 15) evening. However, in the extended 5-day weather forecast, the rainfall trend may decrease.
