The Dhaka University Teachers’ Association has condemned the slogan ‘Ami Razakar’ in the Dhaka University campus. This was condemned in a circular signed by the association’s president Prof. Nizamul Haque Bhuiyan and general secretary Prof. Zeenat Huda on Tuesday.

According to the statement, we are saddened and ashamed that a group of students agitating for the abolition of quota in government jobs distorted the speech of the Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and chanted ‘Ami ke, tumi ke, Razakar-Rajakar’ on the Dhaka University campus on the night of July 14 (Sunday). He is angry.

They mentioned, “Through this slogan, three lakh martyrs have been disrespected. Disrespect has been shown to two to six lakh abused women.

The announcement of the DU Teachers’ Association also said, “We strongly condemn raising slogans in favor of Razakar, who conducted killings, rapes and looting during the liberation war, on the holy land of Dhaka University, which is stained with the blood of martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the great liberation struggle of Bangladesh and the university played a leading role in the great liberation war.” Dhaka University teaching society will not accept Razakar’s partisanship and insulting the ideals of the Great Liberation War under any pretext.

The attempt to subvert the ideals of the liberation war centered on the abolition of quotas is a planned conspiracy against the state. I request the talented students of Dhaka University, who are the bearers and bearers of the liberation war, to be careful about this conspiracy. In this regard, he condemned the violence in the campus and demanded logical reform of the quota.

In the last line of the circular, it is said, ‘The incident of violence that happened in Dhaka University campus due to the quota movement is condemnable. In this regard, we call on everyone to exercise restraint by giving utmost importance to the safety of the students. At the same time, we call upon the government to logically reform the quota system in government jobs.
