15 days after two school students went missing after a boat sank in Thanchi in Bandarban, the body of another student has been recovered. Locals and police said that the bodies of two students who went missing after the boat sank have been recovered.

The body was recovered from the Sangu River near the Padmajhiri mouth of Sadar Union before evening on Tuesday (July 16). The rescued Phulvani Tripura (09) is the daughter of Nilapru Tripura of Ward No. 5, Harishchandra Para, Tindu Union.

Locals said that the body of Phulbani Tripura was found lying in the river Sangu near Chingri Jhiri in Padamuk area of ​​Sadar Union earlier in the evening. Later, the student informed his relatives and the police that the boat had sunk and the body was recovered with local assistance.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Thanchi police station Md Jasim Uddin said that the body of Phulbani Tripura among the two missing students in Chingri Jhiri was recovered today and her body was handed over to the family after the legal process.

It is to be noted that two primary school students Shanti Rani Tripura (10) and Phulbani Tripura (9) went missing on their way to school by boat from Ward No. 5 Harish Chandra Para of Tindu Union at 9:30 am on the 1st of July when the boat sank in Chingri Jhiri of Padmukh area. Among them, Shanti Rani Tripura’s body was recovered after 7 days. The body of another Phulbani Tripura was recovered today after 15 days.
