Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid tribute to the martyrs of the Liberation War at the memorial on the Great Independence and National Day.

He signed the visitation book after paying tribute at Savar National Memorial on Tuesday.

In the visitation book, the Prime Minister wrote – Today, March 26, is the great independence and national day of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. On this day, I remember with utmost respect Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the greatest Bengali of all time and father of the nation. I pay my respects to the martyrs of Bangladesh’s freedom struggle and liberation war and to the mothers and sisters who were victimized by the Pakistani occupation forces. With deep pain and tired heart, I remember my mother Begum Fazilatun Nesha and my three younger brothers Kamal, Jamal, Russell who were martyred by the merciless bullets of the assassins on 15th August 1975. Tributes to the four national leaders killed in Dhaka Central Jail. Who were brutally murdered on 3rd November 1975.

On this great day today, we will make Bangladesh a developed and prosperous Sonar Bangla in the spirit of our pledge-independence, Inshallah. I wish all the people of Bangladesh a great Independence and National Day. Joy Bangla, Joy Bangabandhu.
