Record rainfall in Japan, thousands evacuated

In the video footage, several vehicles, including a police car, were also seen washed away by the flood waters. Authorities have advised the evacuation of more than 200,000 people, according to the Fire and Disaster Management Agency.

At least 4,000 people have been evacuated to various shelters in this disaster, according to the government broadcaster NHK.

According to the news, due to heavy rainfall, about 3,600 families have been cut off. The Japan Meteorological Agency has issued the highest emergency warning for heavy rain this week in Sakata and Yuzawa in the Yamagata region.
