General journalist society wants justice for the murder of journalists

Today, July 31, Wednesday, the general journalist community formed a human chain in front of the National Press Club to demand fair trial and adequate compensation for Dhaka Times senior journalist Hasan Mehdi, photojournalist Tauhid Zaman Priya, ATM Turab of Naya Diganta and Daily Bhorer Awaz’s Gazipur correspondent Md Shakeel Hossain’s murder and Strong protests against the unprecedented brutality including the death of journalists, vandalism of media cars, burning of media vehicles and burning of media vehicles in the capital and across the country.

At that time, famous journalist of the country Saidur Rahman Rimon, Surma Alam etc. gave an important speech, various journalist organizations from Dhaka and outside Dhaka participated in the human band. During the speech, the speakers strongly condemned and protested against the indiscriminate killing of journalists and called upon Bangabandhu’s daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to stand by the journalists. All the journalists present thanked Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for standing by the families of the slain journalists.
