‘Puran Dhaka Journalist Forum’ demands opening of closed media

Puran Dhaka Journalist Forum has demanded to open the closed media of the country. Puran Dhaka Journalist Forum, the only organization of professional journalists in Old Dhaka, made this demand. They demanded to open the closed media to bring back democracy, freedom of speech and freedom of the press. This demand was conveyed to the new government in an emergency meeting of the organization on Wednesday (August 7) ​​afternoon.

The meeting was chaired by the president of the organization, Zafarul Alam. The program was moderated by Joint Secretary Mustaqeem Nibir. Among others, Vice President Mostafizur Rahman Mostak, Organizing Secretary Nargis Jui, Office Secretary Syed Mahfuzul Haque Mukul, Joint Publicity Secretary Azizul Islam Yuvraj, Arfin Nibir, Jewel Khandkar, Sabbir Ahmed and others also spoke.

Journalist leaders said that anti-media law, Cyber ​​Security Act should be repealed. This law is against freedom of media. Under the grip of these black laws and dictatorship, the media is now in crisis of existence. They said closed media including Dainik Dinkal, Amar Desh, Channel One, Diganta TV, Islamic TV should be opened. At the same time, they demanded to stop the killing and torture of journalists and cancel all anti-media freedom laws.
