BNP’s National Executive Committee Organizing Secretary (Barisal Division) Bilkis Jahan Shirin’s party post has been suspended on Sunday for being involved in activities against party discipline. Apart from this, three leaders of Gazipur and Satkhira District Jubo Dol were expelled from the organization yesterday on the same complaint. In the last six days, a total of 67 people from BNP, Juba Dol, Chhatro Dol, and Volunteers have been expelled.

After the political change, violence broke out across the country. BNP and its affiliated organizations are taking action against the leaders accused of involvement in criminal activities and violence in different areas of the country.

The party is expelling at least 67 leaders and workers from 19 districts in the last six days. Among them there are 50 people from Youth Dal, 10 people from Chhatro Dol, 6 people from BNP and one from Swachhasevak Dol. Apart from this, show cause notices have been issued to at least 42 leaders and activists of BNP and its affiliates in three districts.

Yesterday, a notice signed by Nurul Islam Sohel, Secretary of the Central Executive Committee of Juba D0l, informed about the expulsion of three people. There it is said that the joint convener of Gazipur District Jubo Dal Shafiqul Islam Sohel, the convener of Gacha Thana Jubo Dal of Gazipur metropolis Kamal Uddin, the convener of Kumira Union Jubo Dal of Tala Upazila of Satkhira district. Salim Reza has been expelled from the party along with his membership.

According to the notification, the party will not take any responsibility for the misdeeds of the expelled leaders and the leaders and workers have been requested not to have organizational relations with them.
Apart from this, the party post of BNP National Executive Committee Organizing Secretary (Barisal Division) Bilkis Jahan Shirin has been suspended. The notification signed by Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, senior joint secretary general of the party, said that the party and organizational activities of Bilkis Jahan will be suspended until further orders.

According to BNP sources, after the fall of the Awami League government led by Sheikh Hasina, this measure is being taken after the top leadership of the party took a strict stand against attacks and vandalism in various places including the houses of minorities.

The Acting Chairman of BNP gave a stern warning against violence in the Nayapaltan rally last Thursday. He urged anyone who wants to commit any crime using the name of BNP to be handed over to the law.
