BNP Standing Committee member Major (retd) Hafiz Uddin Ahmad expressed his gratitude to India for supporting Bangladesh during the Liberation War. At the same time, he said to India, do not try to become the master of this country because you have helped. Try to be a friend of the people. BNP will maintain friendly relations if it comes to power.

He said these things at a discussion meeting at the National Press Club in the capital on Saturday. The National Freedom Fighters Party organized the meeting to demand that former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina be brought back to the country and prosecuted and the Awami League banned.

Complaining that Awami League has made a list of fake freedom fighters, Chief Guest Hafiz said that the number of freedom fighters in 1971 was 80 thousand. Now it is two and a half lakh. How come so many freedom fighters? He demanded that the army investigation report on the BDR rebellion should be made public.

The meeting chaired by Muktijoddha party president Ishtiaq Aziz Ulfat and moderated by general secretary Sadek Ahmed Khan was attended by BNP Chairperson Advisor Zainul Abdin Farooq, Abdus Salam, Advocate Fazlur Rahman, Public Rights Council President Nurul Haque Noor, AB Party Joint Member Secretary Barrister Asaduzzaman Fuad, former Muktijoddha Command Council. Secretary General Naeem Jahangir gave a speech.
