Chittagong’s Bashkhali has been flooded for two consecutive days. A child was killed and another person was injured by wall pressure while visiting the hill on Saturday afternoon.

According to local sources, due to two consecutive days of rain, the hilly areas of Shilkoop, Chambal, Puichari, Sadhanpur, Kalipur, Bailchari, Jaldi areas of the upazila have been flooded. In addition to the roads in these areas, the paddy fields of these areas have also been submerged. Due to continuous rain for two days, the main road in Gunagri area of ​​Sadhanpur, Kalipur upazila was flooded. The source further informed that a child named Mohammad Nohan (12) died after falling into the water while looking at the hill yesterday afternoon. He is the son of Amir Hossain of East Puichhari area.

Meanwhile, two goats died after a wall collapsed in Master Para of Sadhanpur Union. A person named Bhupati Dey (47) was injured.

Banskhali upazila agriculture officer Abu Salek said that most of the agricultural land of the upazila has been submerged under water due to two days of continuous rain. The amount of damage will be known on Sunday.

Jasmine Akhter, UNO of Banskhali, said that one child was killed while visiting the hill and one was injured by the wall. Agricultural crops have been damaged due to inundation in various places.
