Trishal Nazrul Islam College market under the Awami grabbers

Upazila Awami League and Jubo League offices have been rented by Acting Principal Zainab Rekha at Govt Nazrul College Market in Trishal, Mymensingh. Various criticisms are going on inside and outside different parties. Centering on this, the image of the party is being tarnished. According to college sources, Nazrul College was declared official on 8/8/2018 in Trishal Upazila town near Dhaka-Mymensingh highway. There are about 70 shops on the north-south side of the main gate of the college. Although the shops on the north side were rented, seven shops on the ground floor on the south side and offices of Awami League and Jubo League were forcibly constructed on the second floor. Two offices are not rented. Acting Principal Zainab Rekha paid the rent fee. Assistant Professor Enamul Haque, the former general secretary of the college’s managing committee, said that acting principal Zainab Rekha has built shops, markets and hotels without any resolution. After the construction of the shop on the ground floor was completed, the Awami League leaders made the entire second floor the party office. BNP leaders said that the college has many other properties in different places. which have been vacated due to the principal’s negligence. Acting Principal also did not inquire about the land of the college due to availability of various facilities. Bajlur Rahman, the English lecturer of the college, said that for allotment of shops, the college fund has deposited about crores of taka at various times. Acting Principal Zainava Rekha spent as she wished. The local Swapan Sarkar said that shops and party offices have been set up in front of the college without ignoring any rules. The owners of six of the 16 shops deposited some money in the college fund, but Zainab Rekha, Acting Principal of Sabuj Chaya Hotel, kept the hotel running with a hefty sum of money. BNP leader Sajdul Islam said that the offices of Awami League and Jubo League are on the second floor. It is a problem to say anything about it. Madam did everything. He is a corrupt person. In this regard, Acting Principal of Trishal Government Nazrul College Zainab Rekha said, I am working full-time for the development of the college. So some people are purposefully spreading misinformation against me. BNP leader Atiqul Islam said that the A-League government is doing whatever it wants while in power. But Awami League and Jubo League offices are not desirable in place of government colleges. These actions of Awami League are corrupting the education system. Mohammad Ashraful Islam, former joint convener of Trishal Upazila Awami League, said, I have spent Tk 35 lakh in the place of the college as a party office. Everyone knows this. Party activities take place here. There is nothing wrong with that. But I did what I did by talking to madam. Trishal Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Jewel Ahmed said, I did not get time to go after the college became official. No inquiry was made about the college. But no one can occupy the place of government college and enjoy. Action will be taken as per eviction law. Allegedly, acting principal Zainab Rekha is a former leader of Student League. Her brother Bayezid, religious affairs secretary of Mymensingh district Awami League and brother-in-law of Babel, former influential A-League MP from Gafargaon, and her husband was a civil surgeon in Faridpur and Rajbari districts during the A-League period. Dr. Mahbubur Rahman was the leader of Awami-League doctors. College market “Upzilla A, League office” by renting crores of rupees in the name of allotment of shops across the power, millions of rupees in the name of bill vouchers. College money deposited as own bank, dominance spread for a long time. He keeps saying that he still has three crores in his bank account. Shafiqul Islam (Dulal), office assistant and accountant of the college, told the then Principal Mojibur Rahman verbally that he had lost Rs. There was no investigation committee in this regard and no general diary was made in the police station. That money has not been deposited in the government treasury till now. The principal said that he did not know anything about this. Complaints were made against DD Maushi about various corruptions in the college, but acting principal Zainab Rekha kept all the complaints under wraps as her relatives are A-League MPs and district leaders. The DD directed Maushi’s director to investigate the two allegations against him. In this regard, Maushi’s DD Nehal Ahmed said, I have received a complaint. If evidence is found in the investigation, action will be taken against him as per rules.
